Educate (and grow) our community of care.
THISL volunteers give presentations, provide trainings, and table at events in the community in order to educate people about immigrant support activities and how to get involved. Volunteers regularly visit businesses, organizations, worksites, and neighborhoods to share information and advice on how to respond to an ICE presence.
This work can be done without second language skills. It requires a passion to support the direct work being done by others with immigrant community members. The team strives to increase awareness of ICE’s inhumane, divisive and brutal tactics in our region, how to respond, and how to build support for those affected.
Necessary for this work: compassion, collaborative communication, and organizational skills. We train and support our colleagues in this vital work.
