National Orgs

American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) takes court cases, advocates for legislation and provides training and handouts related to immigration.

Asylum Seeker Advice Project (ASAP) has guidance for asylum seekers.

Council on American-Islamic Resources has lists of resources with focus on support for Muslim immigrants.

Immigrant Legal Resource Center holds bi-weekly briefings on relevant law/rule changes or court rulings related to immigration.

Statewide Orgs

WAISN (Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network) is an immigrant-led network of immigrant and refugee-rights organizations and individuals working to serve and strengthen communities across the state. It operates the statewide immigration enforcement activity hotline and offers online training for Rapid Response and Know Your Rights as well as offering helpful flyers, brochures and signs translated into many languages.

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) provides direct legal support and advocacy. Their website contains detailed Family Safety Plan links,
useful training links from ACLU, and Know Your Rights info.

Washington Neighborhood Defense (WAND) does extensive Know Your Rights outreach and canvassing to businesses across the state. Many materials are available in various languages from their linktree.

Asian Pacific Islanders Coalition of WA advocates for Asian and Pacific Islanders rights. There is a South Sound APIC chapter that is very active.

Washington State Department of Social & Health Services Office of Refugee & Immigrant Assistance (ORIA) provides resources and trainings.

The Washington State Labor Council (AFL-CIO) has an Immigrant and Worker Justice Toolkit.

Washington State Commission on Hispanic Affairs has extensive resource lists.

University of Washington Center for Human Rights does extensive research and reporting on issues impacting immigrants, including an entire series on conditions at the NW Detention Center and reports detailing how the Dept of Licensing continues to share data with Customs & Border Patrol in violation of the Keep Washington Working (KWW) Act.

Regional Orgs

Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice Northwest works across communities of all faiths and coalitions to build collective power and create structural and
systemic change. They are very active in accompaniment efforts and produce action emails about immigration issues statewide (sign up for these here: www.jewishcoalition.org/take-action)

La Resistencia is a grassroots immigrant-led group working to end detentions and stop deportations in Washington, and to shut down the NW Detention Center (Northwest ICE Processing Center or NWDC). La Resistencia monitors ICE flights at King County International Airport and hosts regular vigils and solidarity days at the NWDC.

Advocates for Immigrants in Detention NW (AIDNW) provides immigrants and refugees in the NW Detention Center with support, including phone cards, visits, and penpals and, upon release, with assistance to reach family and community resources.

Local Orgs

Rooted in Lewis County is a grassroots 501(c)(4) nonprofit that serves historically marginalized communities and their allies. We are working to remove systemic barriers and nurture connections so everyone can grow and thrive. Individuals are empowered to help love flourish, dignity sprout and cultivate lasting, positive change to advance an inclusive, equitable Lewis County for all.

Mason County Immigrant Solidarity Network (MCISN)

OlyWhistles is an independent group that creates whistles and zines as well as whistle kits, distributing them to local individuals and businesses for the protection of our neighbors during immigration enforcement actions.

Legal Immigration Services of Olympia (LISO) provides free legal services to immigrants in detention, “bringing dignity, due process and human rights into a system that often denies them.” Here is a recent podcast episode that really dives into the work that LISO does.

Strengthening Sanctuary Alliance offers trainings as well as other action opportunities, including a Police/ICE team that works with law enforcement to

Multicultural Service Center of South Sound (MSC) is a welcoming
and inclusive community space for individuals and organizations that serve immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers.

The Multi-Cultural Services Center (MCS) of South Sound offers free English language learning groups as well as free tutoring to help immigrants prepare for their U.S. Citizenship interviews and tests. The Community Coalition for Immigrant Solidarity (CCIS) is facilitated by MSC is a coalition of community groups that meets quarterly to share information on immigration resources and actions. CCIS also publishes an online weekly newsletter highlighting current info and actions. It includes a calendar with trainings and rallies. Email ccis-mscss@outlook.com to subscribe.

Mi Chiantla provides Know Your Rights and other immigrant
support in Spanish, and has a Child Passport Program for citizen children of undocumented parents. It also works on promoting student success and addressing food, transportation, housing, health and legal needs of families.

Olympia Indivisible (OI) has an active Immigrant Justice Team. OLI advocates for legislation (which sometimes includes immigration-related legislation) and hosts a webpage that lists various rallies, marches, trainings, boycotts, etc.

Northwest Indivisible (NWI) hosts a Resistance Calendar that includes immigrant justice and pro-democracy events.
